DEPARTURE FROM LUCKNOW Leave Lucknow by 7 am by
car, so that you are in Ayodhya by 9.30 or 10 am, to see everything you
want to see. Ideally, pack a light breakfast for the route, so that you
save time. The best way to travel to Ayodhya from Lucknow is by a
private car or taxi on hire. Alternatively, you could check out the
UPSRTC’s schedule for buses running between the two cities. Here’s everything you must see and do while in Ayodhya:
10.30 AM: HANUMAN GARHI MANDIR It is believed
that a child is the strongest and the most confident when he sits in his
mother’s lap. The Hanuman Garhi temple can boast of such strength. It
is considered to be the most powerful seat of Lord Hanuman as he sits
and enjoys in his mother Anjani’s lap here. Legend has it that Lord
Hanuman lived here in a cave and guarded the Janambhoomi or Ramkot.
Devotees believe that all their wishes are granted with a visit to this
holy shrine.

11.30 AM: KANAK BHAWAN Just a few minutes walk
away is Kanak Bhawan. Legend goes that Ram was coming home with his
bride, Janaki, the beautiful daughter of Raja Janak. Kaikeyi was in a
dilemma – what would be a good ‘mukh dikhai’ for the first
daughter-in-law of Raja Dashrath? She didn’t want anyone to feel she was
any less a mother to Ram than Maa Kaushalya, so, a palace for the
newlyweds would be ideal, she thought. Kanak Bhawan, dating back to
Treta Yug, is the beautiful palace that she gifted to Sita. The
beautiful idols of Goddess Sita along with Lord Ram and his three
brothers at Kanak Bhawan are a delight to sore eyes. Open all days, 6 am to 9 pm
12.15 PM: REFRESHMENTS Ram Janmbhoomi does not
open before 1 pm, so use this time to stop for refreshments outside
Kanak Bhawan. You can also stop by at Kanak Sarkar Rasoi, run by the
Kanak Bhawan trust. It serves garlic and onion free delicacies in set
thalis. The thali consists of a Dal, Rice, two vegetables and rotis. You
also get a breakfast of poori sabzi here, for just Rs.10!
A 15-minute walk takes you from Kanak Bhawan to Ram Janmbhoomi.
1 PM: RAM JANMABHOOMI One of the major
attractions in Ayodhya, the Ram Janmbhoomi temple is considered to be
the birthplace of Lord Ram, and is hence thronged by devotees. Open all days: 7 am to 11 am and 2 pm to 6 pm
2 PM: VALMIKI RAMAYAN BHAWAN This place is famous
for the Valmiki Ramayana which has been engraved beautifully on marble
here. When a devotee’s wish is fulfilled, he comes here to submit text
copies filled with ‘सीता राम’ written several thousand times, at the
Ram Naam Bank. Open all days, 6 am to 9 pm
4 PM: GUPTAR GHAT No trip to Ayodhya is complete
without a visit to ghats of the sacred Saryu river. On the way back to
Lucknow, do make a stopover at this sacred ghat is believed to be the
spot where Lord Rama took Jal Samadhi. It is here that Lord Rama took
his last dip and was never seen again in human form. You can also take a
boat ride on the river Saryu, which is known to be the abode of
hundreds of dolphins! And while you are here, try the pakodas and corn-on-the-cob available on the ghat.

The devotees get up early on the day of Dev Diwali and perform the
‘Kartik snan’, that is a ritual of taking a dip in the holy Ganges).
They perform ‘deepdan’ (offering oil lamps) in the honour of Goddess
Ganga. Following this ‘Ganga aarti’ is performed by 24 Brahmin Priests
along with 24 girls, with full devotion.
On this occasion of Dev Diwali, people decorate their houses with oil
lamps. Colourful designs or rangoli are made on the front doors. In
several houses in Varanasi, ‘Akhand Ramayana’ is organized along with
offering bhogs.
In the evening, on the streets of Varanasi, huge processions of
beautifully decorated deities are taken out with full enthusiasm. The
night sky is lit up with the lights of the firecrackers. After the
event, dance performances and cultural programmes by famous
personalities of Varanasi also takes place.
Pitru Paksha Shraddha dates 2023, Procedure and Cost
Pitru Paksha Shraddha 2023: Pitru paksha homage
to ancestors through food and water offerings in the form of Pind
Pradhan and tarpan. The duration of the Pitru paksha is 16 lunar days in
the lunar month of Bhadrapada /Ashwin as per the Hindu calendar. People
from the south and west of India follow this in the lunar month of
Bhadrapada and people from the north follow this in the month of Ashwin.
It begins with the full moon day or a day after the full moon day and
ends on Mahalyaya Amavasya. Pitru paksha Shraddha has different names
depending upon the region and language.

Importance of Pitru Paksha:
According to Hindu scriptures, there are three debts called Dev,
Rishi, and Pitru debts. People offer food and water to fulfill their
ancestors who come to the earth planet during Pitru paksha. As a tribute
and tradition, people perform Pitru Karya in Pitru paksha and are
followed by Devata Karyas after Pitru paksha. When we follow this order
one will get good results from Devata pujas. Pitrus bestow Santana
(generation), Santrupti (happiness), and Sampath (wealth). So this
afterlife ritual is very important.
This Pitru paksha shraddha is also known by different names depending upon the region and language. Pitri Pokkho, Sola Shraddh, Kanagat, Jitiya, Mahalaya Paksha., Apara Paksha, Pitri paksha etc.

About Ardh Kumbh Mela Allahabad:
Allahabad every 6 year’s it is celebrated in the month of
January-February when Jupiter is in Aries or Taurus and Sun and Moon are
in Capricorn during the Hindu month of Magha. In the year 2025,
beginning from 15th January to 04th March; all this will once again be
the centre of attraction and attention from world over. Estimates
suggest that in the Maha Kumbh Mela held in Allahabad in the year 2025,
nearly 60 million took a bath at the occasion and if the forecasts are
to be believed, the next one will garner an even bigger gathering than
the previous one.
Legend has it that in the mythological times, during a waging war
between the demigods and demons for the possession of elixir of eternal
life, a few drops of it had fallen on to four places that are today
known as Prayag, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nasik. It is believed that these
drops gave mystical powers to these places. It is to make oneself gain
on those powers that Kumbh Mela has been celebrated in each of the four
places since long as one can remember. The normal Kumbh Mela is held

Post drive to Prayagraj upon reaching proceed to see the Triveni

Later have a local sightseeing of Allahabad like Hanuman Temple ,

Day 03: Varanasi - BodhGaya Sightseeing
Morning 5am.Visit Main Kashi Vishwanath temple, one of the 12
jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva, Annapurna Devi temple and Vishalakshi Devi.
enjoying a hearty breakfast, drive towards Bodhgaya. On reaching, check
in to the hotel. After taking rest, head out to visit Sujata Temple,
Sujata Kheerdan Stahal, Mahabodhi Temple, Bodhi Tree, Great Buddha
Statue and Monastery. After completing sightseeing back to the hotel and
overnight stay at Bodhgaya.
Day 04: Bodhgaya – Gaya Sightseeing – Varanasi
After having breakfast, check out from hotel and drive to Gaya,
upon arrival visit river Phalgu to perform the ritual of Pind Dan, After
Pind Dan do darshan at Vishnupad Temple and Mangla Gauri Temple. Post,
